Cannabis world Ltd. and/or its affiliates (collectively, with such affiliates, "Cannabis world", “we” or “our”), are committed to maintaining the accuracy, confidentiality and security of your personal information pursuant to this privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”). This Privacy Policy applies to all the products, services, websites and applications offered by Cannabis world, except where otherwise noted. We refer to those products, services, websites, and applicationss collectively as the “services” in this policy. Cannabis world provides this Privacy Policy to describe the personal information that Cannabis world collects from or about you, as well as how we use and to whom we disclose that information in connection with the services. Please review this entire document carefully.

You must agree to this Privacy Policy, in its entirety, including our use of cookies described herein in order to: register an account (“Account”) with Cannabis world.co, any affiliated sites, or to complete a survey or pop-up survey question or to access a learning platform including CannSell and Cohesion (collectively the “Websites”) and log into your Account as a member of a Cannabis world Website or survey respondent. Your acceptance of both this Privacy Policy and our use of cookies on our Websites shall be deemed a blanket acceptance of such Privacy Policy and cookie usage for all future attempts to log-in and access your Account(s). If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy in its entirety, you are not authorized to register for an Account or as a survey respondent on or for a Cannabis world Website.

References to “data” in this Privacy Policy will refer to whatever data you provide to Cannabis world whether it be survey responses, data collected when you register an Account, reviews, receipts, and any other information you provide to Cannabis world's.

Privacy Policy Effective for Canada

It is Cannabis world's policy to comply with the privacy legislation within each jurisdiction in which we operate. Sometimes the privacy legislation and / or an individual's right to privacy are different from one jurisdiction to another. This Privacy Policy covers only those activities that are subject to the provisions of Canada's federal and provincial privacy laws, as applicable.

This Privacy Policy has a limited scope and application. Consequently, the rights and obligations contained in this Privacy Policy may not be available to all individuals or in all jurisdictions.

1. What Is Personal Information?

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, personal information is any information about an identifiable individual, other than an individual's business contact information when collected, used or disclosed for the purposes of enabling the individual to be contacted in relation to their business responsibilities.

2. What Information Do We Collect about you?

We collect and maintain different types of information in respect of the individuals with whom we interact. This includes:

  • a) Personal Information: you might provide us with personal information whether through use of our services, submitting a form on our website, entering a contest, registering an Account, responding to a survey, submitting a review or receipt, or an interaction with our sales or customer support team. The personal information we may collect includes:
    • contact and identification information, such as your first and last name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, and postal code;
    • your age;
    • personal health information related to the services that you seek from us;
    • your reviews of third-party products and services;
    • any receipts for cannabis or cannabis related products that you voluntarily provide, and the information contained on that receipt;
    • profile information such as your education, occupation, income, familiarity with cannabis, and information about yourself that may be voluntarily provided by you;
    • any information you provide in responding to a survey or a survey pop-up questio
    • your Internet Protocol Address (IP Address), the domain used the access the Website, the type and version of browser or operating system being used, and your IPQS Device Fingerprint;
    • your Website usage and online behavior;
    • additional information concerning the products and services that we provide to, or receive from, you; and
    • business relationship information, including information related to your agreements, preferences, advisors, service providers; and suppliers, feed-back and information requested by or provided to you.
  • Cannabis world's operations include activities related to: (i) providing a federallyregulated consumer-driven, cannabis-friendly community based on unbiased information and innovative tools and services; (ii) supporting Canadians looking to explore and purchase recreational and medical cannabis; (iii) providing cannabis related learning modules through its CannSell program; (iv) conducting surveys to better respond to the needs of the current cannabis consumer market; and (iv) providing consumer insights to assist the cannabis industry to provide better services and products in response to the needs of the current market. As such, Cannabis world may also collect personal information from individuals participating in and / or impacted by those activities.
    We may also collect market-related information, which may include personal information, concerning market trends and activities impacting our business. We may also collect information related to our media, investor and public relations activities, and information related to our interactions with financial and other advisors.
    As a general rule, Cannabis world collects personal information directly from you. In most other circumstances where the personal information that we collect about you is held by a third party, we will obtain your permission before we seek out this information from such sources (such permission may be given directly by you, or implied from your actions).
    From time to time, we may utilize the services of third parties and may also receive personal information collected by those third parties in the course of the performance of their services for us or otherwise. Where this is the case, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that such third parties have represented to us that they have the right to disclose your personal information to us.
    Where you provide feedback, suggestions, comments, commentary, opinions or reviews to or on any of our Websites, you hereby assign to us all right, title and interest related to such materials, and such materials shall be owned exclusively by us, and you hereby waive any moral rights thereto, and agree that we may use or reproduce such materials in any manner in our discretion, without any obligation to compensate you.b) Usage Information: We collect usage information about you whenever you interact with our Website and services. This includes which webpages you visit, what you click on, when you perform those actions, and so on.
  • c) Device and Browser Data: We collect information from the device and application you use to access our services. Device data mainly means your IP address, operating system version, device type, device ID/Mac address, system and performance information, and browser type.
  • d) We use third party cookies and tracking services that employ cookies and page tags to collect data about visitors to our websites. This data includes usage and user statistics. We provide more information on cookies below under the heading “Cookies”.
  • e) Log Data: Like most websites today, our web servers keep log files that record data each time a device accesses those servers. The log files contain data about the nature of each access, including originating IP addresses, internet service providers, the files views on our site (e.g. HTML pages, graphics, etc.), operating system versions, device type, timestamps, and IPQS Device Fingerprinting.
  • f) Information from third parties and publicly available information: We may collect your personal information from third parties where, for example, you give permission to those third parties to share your information with us or where you have made that information publicly available online.

3. Our Websites

We may collect information related to your visit to our various Websites and learning platforms including CannSell and Cohesion, including the IP address and domain used to access our Websites, the type and version of your browser, the website you came from to access our Websites, the page you entered and exited at, any website page within our Websites that is viewed by that IP address and what country you are from. We use this information to monitor our Websites’ performance (such as number of visits, average time spent, page views) and for our business purposes such as working to continually upgrade our website.

We may use other analytics to monitor, identify, and collect trend and usage statistics, including, without limitation, how often our Websites are accessed, how often different features of our Websites are used, the pass/fail rate of our courses, how often different buttons and menu items are clicked, execution time for different operations, error reports, download locations, versions, platform information, application and site usage, features usage, exception tracking, and operating system information (collectively, “Analytical Information”). Such Analytical Information does not include any information that personally identifies you. We collect such Analytical Information and use it in anonymized, aggregated form to provide, operate, manage, maintain, and enhance our programs.

We may place a "cookie" on the hard drive of your computer to track your visit. A cookie is a small data file that is transferred to your hard drive through your web browser that can only be read by the website that placed the cookie on your hard drive. The cookie acts as an identification card and allows our website to identify you and to record your passwords and preferences. The cookie allows us to track your visit to the website so that we can better understand your use of our website so that we can customize and tailor the website to better meet your needs. Most web browsers are set to accept cookies. However, on most web browsers you may change this setting to have your web browser either: (i) notify you prior to a website placing a cookie on your hard drive so that you can decide whether or not to accept the cookie; or (ii) automatically prevent the placing of a cookie on your hard drive. It should be noted that if cookies are not accepted, you may not be able to access a number of web pages found on the website.

Finally, our Websites may contain links to other websites that may be subject to less stringent privacy standards. These links are provided for your convenience only and you assume all risk for clicking these links to other websites. We cannot assume any responsibility for the privacy practices, policies or actions of the third parties that operate these websites. Cannabis world is not responsible for how such third parties collect, use or disclose your personal information. You should review the privacy policies of these websites before providing them with personal information.

4. Cohesion Data Platform

If appliable, we collect the information you provide to us during your registration as a user or subscriber on the Cohesion Platform. This information is used only to confirm, maintain, and update your registration during your subscription. We may collect other information concerning your use of the Cohesion Platform as described above in Our Websites section.

Why Do We Collect Personal Information?

Cannabis world collects personal information to enable us to manage, maintain, and develop our operations, including for example:

  • to establish, maintain and manage our relationship with you so that we may provide you with, or receive from you, the products and services that have been requested;
  • to enable you to register, access, and maintain an Account with us;
  •  
  • to be able to review the products and services that we provide to you so that we may: (i) understand your requirements for our products and services; and (ii) work to improve our products and services;
  • to be able to review the products and services that we obtain from you so that we may work with you and so that you may understand our requirements for such products and services;
  • to provide segmented data sets on our Cohesion Platform;
  • to be able to comply with your requests (for example, if you prefer to be contacted at a business or residential telephone number and advise us of your preference, we will use this information to contact you at that number);
  • to protect Cannabis world against error, fraud, theft and damage to our goods and property;
  • To create an IP quality score in order to detect and protect Cannabis world against fraud;
  • to enable us to comply with applicable law, government contracts or regulatory process; and
  • any other reasonable purpose to which you consent.

6. How Do We Use and Disclose the Information We Collect?

We may use or disclose your information as follows:

  • Cookies: We collect information using cookies when you visit our Websites or open our emails. These cookies are used to ensure that the full functionality of our Websites are operational, to ensure the Websites operate properly and optimally. Other cookies are used to provide advertisements to you or to provide Cannabis world analytics concerning your usage of our Websites and your online behavior. The information collected by these cookies helps us identify trends and provide consumer insights, and segmented data sets on our consumer insight platforms, including Cohesion;
  • Contact Information: We only use contact information to maintain your Account, to provide you with marketing and promotional materials, news, and survey’s as consented by you, and to respond to an inquiry which you submit to us;
  • Your use of our Services: We use information about how you use our services to improve our services for you and all users;
  • Device and Browser Data: We use device data to troubleshoot problems with our service, to make improvements to it, and to detect and protect Cannabis world against fraud. We also infer your geographical location based on your IP address, which we use to produce aggregated data around user location trends and to provide more applicable services. We will also use this information to provide an additional data later in our consumer insights products so they can segment data sets by inferred geographic location;
  • Log Data: We use log data for many different purposes including, to monitor abuse and troubleshoot, to create new services, features, content or make recommendations, to track behavior at the aggregate/anonymous level to identify and understand trends in the various interactions with our services, and to fix bugs and troubleshoot product functionality. For example, your IP address is used to ensure that you do not complete the same survey form twice;
  • To Manage our Services: We will use your information and data internally, to enforce our agreements where applicable, to prevent potentially illegal activities, and to screen for and prevent undesirable or abusive activity;

We may use or disclose your personal information without your knowledge or consent where we are permitted or required by applicable law, regulatory requirements or government contracts to do so.

Our Websites may provide you with an opportunity to interact with others and share your thoughts, information, content and materials (collectively “User Materials”). You are solely responsible for the User Materials that you post on our website. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, any User Materials that you post onto our website (including your username) will be made publicly available. As such, do not post any personal information onto our website (such as your name or address) if you wish to remain anonymous.

7. When do we Disclose Your Personal Information?

We may share your personal information with our employees, contractors, consultants, affiliates and other parties who require such information to assist us with managing our relationship with you, including third parties that provide services to us or on our behalf. For example, we may share your personal information from time to time with our third-party information technology and data processing service providers so that we may operate our business. As a result, your personal information may be collected, used, processed, stored or disclosed in Canada or in the United States. As such, your personal information may potentially be accessible to law enforcement and national security authorities of those jurisdictions. If you would like further information about our policies and practices regarding service providers located in Canada or the Unites States and further information about how these service providers, collect, use, disclose or store personal information, please contact our Privacy Officer using the contact details below.

We may also share receipt data or other data not containing personal information from time to time with our third-party information technology and data processing service providers so that we may operate our business. As a result, such information may be collected, used, processed, stored or disclosed in a foreign county and may potentially be accessible to law enforcement and national security authorities of those jurisdictions.

We may use or disclose your personal information without your knowledge or consent where we are permitted or required by applicable law, regulatory requirements or government contracts to do so.

If you have signed up for the CannSell program, we are required to disclose your personal information to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. This may include your name, email address, whether you passed the course, how many times you have attempted to take a course, and the date when you passed the course.

Analytical Information may be disclosed by us to third parties at any time.

Depending on which of our Websites you have accessed, we may share your email address with third party retailers related to that particular website.

Survey Responses: by providing your contact information and survey responses, you agree that we may share your information with our partner companies so they may use the same for predictive analytics. We have contractual agreements with our partner companies to ensure that the information they receive from us is handled securely. You will not be marketed to one-to-one by these companies using any contact information provided in a data set from Cannabis world unless you have opted in to receive communications from such third parties.

In addition, personal information may be disclosed or transferred to another party during the course of, or completion of, a change in ownership of or the grant of a security interest in, all or a part of Cannabis world or its affiliates through, for example, an asset or share sale, or some other form of business combination, merger or joint venture, provided that such party is bound by appropriate agreements or obligations and required to use or disclose your personal information in a manner consistent with the use and disclosure provisions of this Privacy Policy, unless you consent otherwise.

To help us provide certain aspects of our services we use trusted key partners and in particular, we engage third parties to:

  • facilitate our email collectors for sending surveys by email to survey respondents;
  • deliver and help us track our marketing and advertising content;
  • help us track website conversion success metrics; and
  • manage our services and customer support services to you.

We enter into confidentiality and data processing terms where applicable with partners to ensure they comply with high levels of confidentiality and best practice in privacy and security standards.

Finally, your personal information may be disclosed: :

  • as permitted or required by applicable law, regulatory requirements or government contracts;
  • to comply with valid legal processes such as search warrants, subpoenas or court orders;
  • enforce applicable policies, including investigation of potential violations;
  • detect prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security, or technical issues;
  • to facilitate a sale, merger or change in control of all or any part of our company or business or in preparation for any of these events;
  • as part of Cannabis world's regular reporting activities to protect the rights and property of Cannabis world;
  • during emergency situations or where necessary to protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of our users, a person or group of persons, or Cannabis world as required or permitted by law; and
  • with your consent.

8. Your Consent is Important to Us

It is important to us that we collect, use or disclose your personal information where we have your consent to do so. Depending on the sensitivity of the personal information, your consent may be implied, deemed (using an opt-out mechanism) or express. Express consent can be given orally, electronically or in writing. Implied consent is consent that can reasonably be inferred from your action or inaction. For example, when you enter into an agreement with us, we will assume your consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information for purposes related to the performance of that agreement and for any other purposes identified to you at the relevant time.

Typically, we will seek your consent at the time that we collect your personal information. In certain circumstances, your consent may be obtained after collection but prior to our use or disclosure of your personal information. If we plan to use or disclose your personal information for a purpose not previously identified (either in this Privacy Policy or separately), we will endeavor to advise you of that purpose before such use or disclosure.

We may collect, use or disclose your personal information without your knowledge or consent where we are permitted or required to do so by applicable law or regulatory requirements.

You may change or withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual obligations and reasonable notice, by contacting our Privacy Officer using the contact information set out below. All communications with respect to such withdrawal or variation of consent should be in writing and addressed to our Privacy Officer. If you withdraw or vary your consent, we may not be able to provide you with the services you request. For example, if you want to collect a reward through our Cannabis world Rewards TM program but do not provide the information required to claim this reward, we will not be able to fulfil your request.

Unless you advise us otherwise, through the access and use of our Websites and services, you have consented to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information as explained in this Privacy Policy.

9. How is Your Personal Information Protected?

Cannabis world will endeavor to maintain physical, technical and procedural safeguards that are appropriate to the sensitivity of the personal information in question. These safeguards are designed to prevent your personal information from loss and unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or destruction.

The security of your personal information is important to us, please advise our Privacy Officer immediately of any incident involving the loss of or unauthorized access to or disclosure of personal information that is in our custody or control.

10. Updating Your Personal Information

It is important that the information contained in our records is both accurate and current. If your personal information happens to change during the course of our relationship, please keep us informed of such changes.

In some circumstances we may not agree with your request to change your personal information and will instead append an alternative text to the record in question.

11. Access to Your Personal Information

You can ask to see your personal information. If you want to review, verify or correct your personal information, please contact our Privacy Officer. Please note that any such communication must be in writing.

When requesting access to your personal information, please note that we may request specific information from you to enable us to confirm your identity and right to access, as well as to search for and provide you with the personal information that we hold about you. We may charge you a fee to access your personal information; however, we will advise you of any fee in advance. If you require assistance in preparing your request, please contact our Privacy Officer.

Your right to access the personal information that we hold about you is not absolute. There are instances where applicable law or regulatory requirements allow or require us to refuse to provide some or all of the personal information that we hold about you. In addition, the personal information may have been destroyed, erased or made anonymous in accordance with our record retention obligations and practices. In the event that we cannot provide you with access to your personal information, we will endeavor to inform you of the reasons why, subject to any legal or regulatory restrictions.

12. Retention of Your Personal Information

We keep your personal information as long as is reasonably necessary for us to complete our dealings with you, for the identified purposes set out in this Policy, or as may be required by applicable law, regulatory requirements or government contracts, whichever is longer, and which may extend beyond the termination of our relationship with you. In some cases, this may require us to keep certain personal information or Analytical Information for an indefinite period. We may retain certain data as necessary to prevent fraud or future abuse, or for legitimate business purpose, such as analysis of aggregated or anonymized data, account recovery, or if required by law. Once the information is no longer required, we will take steps to securely dispose of or anonymize the information. If you request that your name be removed from our databases, it may not be possible to completely delete all your Personal Information due to technological or legal constraints.

We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies on our Websites as described in this Privacy Policy, that you agree to when you use our Websites and, in the case of some cookies, for legitimate interests of delivering and optimizing our services.

You can choose to remove or disable cookies via your browser settings. However, we may not be able to provide you with the optimal experience of our Websites or provide certain services.

What are cookies? Cookies are small bits of data we store on your device (computer, mobile phone, tablet, or any other mobile device) that you use to access any of our services and Websites so we can recognize repeat users. Each cookie expires after a certain period of time, depending on what we use it for. Our Websites use both first party (which are set by the Websites being visited) and third party cookies (which are set by a server located outside the domain of our Websites) We use first party and third-party cookies and similar technologies for several reasons as listed below:

  • Unbounce:  These cookies are used to collect information about how visitors interact with our site and landing pages. We use the information to compile reports. The cookies collect information in an anonymous form. 
  • Universal Analytics & Tag Manager (Google):  These cookies are used to collect information about how visitors use our Website. We use the information to compile reports and to help us improve the Website. The cookies collect information in an anonymous form, including the number of visitors to the Website, where visitors have come to the Website from and the pages they visited.

14. Advertisements:

Advertisements may be delivered by Cannabis world or one or more third-party web advertisers including on the Website or third-party sites on behalf of Cannabis world. Cannabis world and third-party web advertisers,, may set cookies. These cookies allow the advertisement server operated by that third-party to recognize your device each time they send you an online advertisement. Accordingly, advertisement servers may compile information about where or whether you viewed their advertisements and which advertisements you clicked on. This information allows web advertisers to deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. This Privacy Policy applies to cookies placed on your device by us, but does not cover the use of cookies by any third-party web advertisers.

15. Links to Third-Party Sites:

The Website or platform may contain links to a number of websites owned and operated by third parties that may offer useful information. The policies and procedures described in this Privacy Policy do not apply to those third-party sites. Please contact those third-party sites for information on their data collection, security, and distribution policies.

16. Information About Your Rights:

Depending on where you reside you have certain rights with respect to your personal information, including the right to request access to, correct, amend, delete, port to another service provider, or object to certain uses of your personal information.

  • Right of access: You may access your personal information in order to verify that it is being processed in accordance with law.
  • Right to rectification: You may request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
  • Right to erasure: You have the right to request the deletion of your personal information from our systems without undue delay where there is no compelling reason for its continued processing (if, for example, your personal information is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was collected or if you withdraw consent on which processing is based and where there is no other legal ground for processing). 17. Children’s Privacy

The Websites, services and surveys are intended for use by persons over the age of 19. Accordingly, we do not knowingly collect information about persons who are younger than 19 years of age. If you think we have collected such information, please contact us and we will remove such information from our systems.

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or concerns about how we manage your personal information, please contact our Privacy Officer by telephone, in writing or by e-mail. We will endeavor to answer your questions and advise you of any steps taken to address the issues raised by you. 21. Interpretation of this Privacy Policy

Any interpretation associated with this Privacy Policy will be made by our Privacy Officer. This Privacy Policy includes examples but is not intended to be restricted in its application to such examples; therefore where the word "including" is used, it shall mean "including without limitation".

This Privacy Policy does not create or confer upon any individual any rights, or impose upon Cannabis world any rights or obligations outside of, or in addition to, any rights or obligations imposed by Canada's federal and provincial privacy laws, as applicable. Should there be, in a specific case, any inconsistency between this Privacy Policy and Canada's federal and provincial privacy laws, as applicable, this Privacy Policy shall be interpreted, in respect of that case, to give effect to, and comply with, such privacy laws.
